Changing any option (including toggling windowed/fullscreen mode) does not change anything. When the game is launched in windowed mode the sound works fine - even when switched to fullscreen the sound still works fine. I assume most of the gamers would look for a fullscreen mode. Leaving the game in a windowed mode before it's shut down is an msXX.
